MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (November 17, 2022) – Mohave County Elections Director Allen Tempert says all county votes from the Tuesday, November 8 general election have been counted and formally processed.

Out of 146, 923 registered county voters, 82,758 ballots were cast.  Voter turnout was 56.33%.  That’s roughly the norm for a general election in a non presidential election year for the county

Previously, Tempert said that the most important thing is accuracy with all votes counted properly, adding  “there is no such thing as a perfect election and there never will be. It went pretty well considering how complicated it is to pull off any function that involves aver 350 people spread out over 13,461 square miles in a 13-hour period.”

One race of special interest to Lake Havasu City voters has been the Lake Havasu City Unified School District Board Member race.  Two individuals are elected.  Sharon Harvey received 11,364 votes and Lisa Roman got 9,709.  Roman defeated Barbara Lumpkins, who received 9,708.  That’s a difference of only one vote, of course.. The previous public count showed Lumpkins ahead by one vote before the reversal occurred. There is no recount in a school board race

Mohave County supervisors will vote to approve the canvas at the supervisors’ meeting on Monday, November 21, 2022.
