Albany, NY - NYGOP Chair Ed Cox released the following statement regarding Kathy Hochul’s proposal to ban a key chemical component of refrigerators and air conditioners, driving up costs for consumers and small businesses:

“First Kathy Hochul banned gas stoves, now she is racing the federal government to the bottom in an effort to appeal to her radical base, even if that means making it more expensive for New Yorkers to buy food and heat and cool their homes.

“It’s no wonder people keep fleeing Kathy Hochul’s New York. If Kathy Hochul was deliberately trying to destroy small businesses and force everyday New Yorkers to leave the state, would she be doing anything differently?”
