This seminar was previously titled "The Evolution of Food" and was changed to "The Integrity of Food."

What does integrity of food mean to you? Join Chef and farmer Alex Seidel (Mercantile Dining & Provision and Fruition), Grant McCargo (Bio-logical Capital), and Jeff Hermanson (Festival Founder) for a conversation about the new renaissance.

Discussion topics will include the question of what "organic" really means. Is it a method? A label? Are organic foods safer or more nutritious? How can we continue to educate communities on food sustainability, the continued use of drugs in farming practices and use of GMOs? How can we make quality, sustainable food available to lower income populations?

Join us as we facilitate dialogue about best practices and what the future holds for our food system. Join nationally-celebrated of sustainable food in the US.

This event was formerly called "Regions of Italy."

"Dirt" is a trending new topic that is cutting edge and we are excited to offer it. Master Sommelier Damon Ornowski will talk about how the soil where wine grapes are grown changes the flavor of the wines. The seminar will still include Italian wines, but it will now also include wines from other regions as well. For those interested in Italian wines, we feel you'll still glean as much good information (and tasting!) as if the seminar focused solely on wines from Italy!

Presented by the Crested Butte Film Festival, Somm takes you on a humorous, emotional, and illuminating look into a mysterious world: the Court of Master Sommeliers and the massively intimidating Master Sommelier Exam, the most difficult test you've never heard of. The Court of Master Sommeliers is one of the world's most prestigious, secretive, and exclusive organizations. Since its inception almost 40 years ago, less than 200 candidates have reached the exalted Master level. The exam covers literally every nuance of the world of wine, spirits, and cigars. Those who have passed have put at risk their personal lives, their well- being, and often their sanity to pull it off. Shrouded in secrecy, access to the Court Of Master Sommeliers has always been strictly regulated and cameras have never been allowed anywhere near the exam, until now. How much do you think you know about wine? Somm will make you think again. Somm takes you on the ultimate insider's tour into a world of obsession, hope, and friendship in red, blanc, and sometimes rose. Running time is 1 hour 33 minutes.

Presented in partnership with the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum. Stops include Soupçon, The Wooden Nickel, Kochevar's Saloon, Power House, and many more historically significant locations. Lunch prepared by Chef Mike Marchitelli at the Gourmet Noodle.

A meal with Michael Marchitelli is as much about the entertainment as it is about the food. Chef Michael is a Crested Butte classic, armed with a cooking repertoire stocked with family recipes from his grandmother's Italian heritage. Not surprisingly, Chef Michael began cooking at 10. Professionally he opened his first culinary endeavor with his mother, a New Orleans blues bar in Pennsylvania. He immediately fell in love. The family tradition continues, as Michael serves the food he grew up on at Marchitelli's Gourmet Noodle. His 17 years at The Gourmet Noodle have garnered him a faithful following from the restaurant, as he now sews up his seasons touring as a private chef.

A grand affair in the ice arena featuring food from local establishments, a wine auction, chef demonstrations starting around 3 PM, plein air artists throughout the arena,  and music from the Gypsy Jazz Social Club, Crested Butte's very own Gypsy Jazz Swing Band.

Open your culinary world and experience the hippest (and most important) trend in fine dining. In true farm to table style, Chef Kalon's dishes inventively revolve to accommodate the change of seasons and availability from the small, local farms that provide the organic ingredients. The clean flavors of these artisanal creations pop with brightness, attentiveness and ingenuity. Proprietors Chris and Natalie further warm the inviting evening with the fun and festive atmosphere of dining in a friend's home. Each dish is explained, so that the dinner delves deeper into really understanding the foods around us and the importance of thoughtful food sourcing.

Utilizing the nuances of these wines as inspiration, Chef Jason Vernon of Soupçon Bistro pairs brilliant dishes perfectly aligned with the extraordinary personality of these varietals through a five course tasting menu.
