From: City Of Wichita

Today, the City of Wichita Division of Arts and Cultural Services announced the launch of a community survey in coordination with the Public Policy and Management Center (PPMC) at Wichita State University. The division is currently reviewing and updating its strategic cultural plan. Community members, including artists and arts and cultural service providers, are invited to participate in an anonymous survey to ensure their feedback is considered as part of the planning process.

The survey is available online at wichita.gov/arts and will run through June 30. It should take no more 10 minutes to complete. Paper copies of the survey will be available at a community survey event from 4 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20 at CityArts, 334 N. Mead. Community members are invited to attend this come-and-go event to take the survey, as well as to talk with staff, steering committee members, and our consultants with PPMC.

“Surveying is an important step in the strategic advancement for the arts and culture sector in Wichita and we encourage all Wichitans, including residents, artists, culture bearers, and arts providers, to complete the survey,” said Lindsay Benacka, Division of Arts and Cultural Services Director. “In creating a new plan, we hope to foster a shared vision with the creative sector that ensures everyone has equitable access to arts and cultural opportunities in Wichita.”

To ensure objectivity and confidentiality, PPMC has been asked to provide an independent analysis of the survey. Individual responses will remain strictly confidential.
