Kids: Expedition Blue Wave

The Children's Library offers two different paths to exploring new shores: a challenge for children from birth to kindergarten and another for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.

In order to be eligible for prizes for the Pre-Reader and Kids programs, participants must log their activities on Beanstack.

Pre-Readers

Our challenge for little ones who are not reading yet focuses on early literacy skills (reading, writing, singing, playing, and talking) to build a foundation for reading.
Kindergarten to

6th Grade

Once readers in K to 6th Grade are registered on Beanstack, they can visit the Library to pick up a paper map and their free book for signing up.

Teen Summer Challenge

Teen Summer Reading is for tweens and teens ages 12-18. Twelve-year-olds may join either the Children or the Teen program.

The Middlesex Middle School Reading Ambassadors have selected 21 of their favorite books you may want to pick up to complete the challenge. You can watch their video or browse the booklist. A huge thank you to the 6th and 7th grade Reading Ambassadors for sharing their favorite books for Summer Reading 2022!
