Reach Your Goals at the Library

No matter what your resolutions are for 2024, there are resources and events at the library that can help you achieve them, such as:

 - Read more in 2024. Join a book club or use our recommendation service to find the perfect book to add to your list.
 - Exercise your body and mind. Take a free yoga class.
 - Help others. Sign up as a Skillshare workshop leader and share your hobbies and skills with people in your community.

Holiday Hours

All branches will be closed Monday, January 1 in observance of New Year's Day and Monday, January 15 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

"Where We Come From" Winter Reading Challenge

Challenge yourself to read at least 300 minutes during the month of January. You can keep track of your reading and earn digital badges with Beanstack.

January/February 2024 Jubilee Reader Available Now

If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, you might have seen our post about the 2023 releases that patrons borrowed the most. If you missed it, you can check it out here, and see if your favorites made the list.

Your Support Helps the Library Grow

When you support the library, you are supporting your community. Gifts to the DeKalb Library Foundation allowed DCPL to host more than 250 special programs attended or viewed by more than 8,000 children, teens and adults in 2023. Initiatives such as 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, Take the Internet Home with You and the Summer Reading Program receive support from the DeKalb Library Foundation. Georgia Center for the Book: Go Forth and Tell Book Launch

Come celebrate the launch of Breanna J. McDaniel's new picture book, Go Forth and Tell: The Life of Augusta Baker, Librarian and Master Storyteller. The author will be joined by April Harrison, the illustrator for the book. This event will be held at Decatur Library on January 28 at 1:00 p.m. Learn more here.
