Multiple local, state, and federal agencies are available to assist Merced County residents impacted by floods at the Disaster Resource Center in Merced.

Located at the Yosemite Building of the Merced County Fairgrounds (900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, 95341) the site is available beginning at 10 a.m. today and will remain open through Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including Saturday and Sunday. FEMA will be available at the site from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on a daily basis. The Disaster Resource Center includes representatives from:

FEMA;

Cal OES;

Merced County Human Services Agency;

Merced County Department of Public Health;

Merced County Building and Safety Division;

Merced County Division of Environmental Health;

Merced County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services.

Services are available in both English and Spanish.

Additionally, the County is in the process of coordinating additional assistance sites with Cal OES and FEMA. More information on these sites will be available soon. Disaster Survivor Assistance Specialists able to assist with registration are currently located at the Planada Community Center, along with local support agencies.

Types of resources available at the Disaster Resource Center include:

Registering with FEMA;

Applying for disaster aid through FEMA;

Applying for benefits such as cash aid, CalFresh, and MediCal;

Wellness checks;

Information about post-flood dwelling safety.

The Bus has added the Merced County Fairgrounds as a drop off location on Planada routes.

The Merced County Emergency Operations Center remains activated and is now shifting into recovery operations.

PLEASE NOTE: FEMA has been out in impacted communities throughout Merced County conducting damage assessments and surveying impacts. If a FEMA representative visits you at your home or business, please be aware that they will carry official identification. Residents are encouraged to ask any FEMA representative for their official badge, which shows the representative's name, photo, and possibly an ID number. A FEMA badge example is included below. FEMA representatives conducting inspections will never ask for money.
