What do you think about vacation rentals in Douglas County?
Join a Live Town Hall Wednesday, Jan. 25, to learn about a proposed licensing program

Your quality of life and your opinion matter in Douglas County. That’s why the Board of Douglas County Commissioners wants to continue the conversation about short-term rentals – like those found on VRBO or Airbnb – in unincorporated areas.

The Board has been hearing from property owners who would like to rent their homes for short-term use, such as vacationing or for traveling nurses, and those who would prefer short-term rentals not be allowed in their neighborhood. Currently, Douglas County’s Zoning regulations allow only limited opportunities for this type of activity.

Based on community feedback, the Board is now considering a licensing program that would allow this use while monitoring the impact on quality of life for the neighborhood. Bring your questions and perspective to a Live Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25.

The Live Town Hall will be via phone, online and in-person at the Philip S. Miller Building, 100 Third St. in Castle Rock. Those who join in-person will have an opportunity to speak personally with Douglas County Commissioners and panelists after the hour-long event.
