Women in Business Lunch

Good morning!

The next East Portland Chamber’s Women in Business lunch will be held on Tuesday, February 7, at 11:30AM. This lunch will be held at The Eastburn Public House on East Burnside. While this establishment is not women-owned, the establishment is active in supporting the local community, and women’s and minority’s rights.

This event is limited to 14 people, so grab a friend and RSVP to [email protected] as soon as possible!! Please respond no later than Friday, February 3. Once the reservation window has been closed, you will receive a calendar invitation with more details.

As a reminder, this event is hosted but not sponsored by the East Portland Chamber of Commerce. Attendees will be responsible for paying their own tab.

We've been made aware of several different grants and opportunities for small businesses! Please find a few of them below:

Metro’s Investment and Innovation Grant Program supports for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations, and colleges and universities involved in creative efforts to prevent waste or make better use of waste through repairing, reusing, recycling or composting materials.
Optional webinars are happening January 23 and 24 and will be recorded if you can't make those sessions.

EPA  environmental justice grants - the historically largest US environmental justice grant investment to date.

From transit buses and passenger vehicles to electric bikes and community service vehicles, the PGE Drive Change Fund is all about electrifying transportation in Oregon.

Host a free pollution prevention intern
Are you struggling to find time to research solutions to your sustainability challenges? Apply now to host a free, full-time, ten-week intern to conduct onsite or virtual research at your business.
You will benefit from:
A new set of creative eyes looking at ways to prevent pollution.
Your intern being mentored by a team that includes an engineer or scientist.
 A full report and presentation with monetary and numeric environmental reductions detailing the intern’s work and next steps for your company.
This year, the program will prioritize applications from coastal businesses, B-Corps, the metal finishing industry, small businesses and the food and beverage sector.
The application deadline is February 17, 2023.

PCEF Climate Investment Fund

At the direction of Portland City Council, PCEF is developing a 5-year Climate Investment Plan to guide the investment of PCEF funds to achieve major carbon reductions in ways that benefit those most impacted by the climate crisis. Here's how you can get involved!
