Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded EM Ford a 2023 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with Empty Bowls of Owensboro, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising money to assist organizations whose primary role is fighting hunger and raise awareness about the issues of food security. The award includes an initial donation of $5,000 for Empty Bowls of Owensboro, which can be doubled to $10,000 just by having community supporters vote online.

The EM Ford and Empty Bowls of Owensboro community story is highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/EM-Ford, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives a mix of at least 500 votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be raised to $10,000. The organization will utilize the funds to aid organizations who feed the hunger stricken across Owensboro.

Since 2016, EM Ford has actively volunteered with the organization and attended fundraising events including silent auctions and bowl making events. The agency team alongside community members craft bowls which are purchased for a donation and all proceeds raised are awarded to local pantries or soup kitchens. The agency also assists in the filming of promotional videos for the nonprofit to garner additional awareness and funds.

Throughout 2023, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 37 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $370,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application and photos demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit.
