Eye Spy in Nature
Our seasonal staff are onboard! Welcome them to our team by saying hello when you see them in the field :)
Liz left a career in videogame development to pursue her lifelong dream of working in the environmental field, earning a BS in Environmental Science with a concentration in conservation last year. Last spring she completed an internship with the Discovery Museum in Acton, where she calculated the museum's ecological footprint and helped develop their long-term environmental sustainability plan. liz is super excited to be the Conservation Crew supervisor this summer and is looking forward to learning more about ecology while exploring Lexington's beautiful conservation land.
Charlie has lived his whole life in Lexington, right next to Arlington's Great Meadows, and is thrilled to spend his summer working outside in the many beautiful conservation areas around Lexington. He is an upcoming senior at Colby College in Maine, majoring in Environmental Science and is looking to continue conservation work in the near future. He's spent the last two summers doing lawn care for families around Lexington, which solidified his passion for working outside and his affinity for nature. His other interests include playing ultimate frisbee and soccer, playing video games with his friends, and cooking meals with his family.
Lexington will always have a place in Charlie's heart and with him graduating college next year, he couldn't be happier spending his summer and working in the town he's known his whole life.

Firefly Watch Community Science
Firefly Watch combines an annual summer evening ritual with scientific research. Join a network of community scientists around the country by observing your own backyard, and help scientists map fireflies.
Anyone in North America can participate in Firefly Watch. All you need to do is spend at least 10 minutes once a week during firefly season observing fireflies in one location (your backyard or in a nearby field). All firefly sightings—or lack thereof—are valuable!
