Face to Face Germantown Awarded $5,000 from Jefferson Avenue Insurance through Liberty Mutual Insurance Company® and Safeco Insurance® 2023 Make More Happen™ Awards

Business and Professional

October 12, 2023

Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Jefferson Avenue Insurance a 2023 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with Face to Face Germantown, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe environment and practical tools, which enables the people of the community to confront personal challenges, empower their lives, and fulfill their unique potential. The award includes an initial donation of $5,000 for Face to Face Germantown, which can be doubled to $10,000 just by having community supporters vote online.

Starting Monday, October 2, the Jefferson Avenue Insurance and Face to Face Germantown community story will be highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/Jefferson-Avenue-Insurance, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives a mix of at least 500 votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be raised to $10,000.

Philadelphia has the highest poverty rate of any large city in the United States, and Germantown's poverty levels are 50% higher than that of the city. With one-third of its residents living in deep poverty, it is highly challenging to afford basic food or shelter for those affected. The donation will enable Face to Face to serve approximately 1,000 nutritious meals to their community and provide clients with around 50 sessions with a behavioral health specialist, 75 sessions with a social worker, and 50 sessions with an attorney.

Jefferson Avenue is dedicated to the betterment of our Germantown community, and Face to Face is one of the organizations that provides a much-needed service to the community and offers volunteers a chance to see how they can make a real difference,” said Jeff Gallo, Principal at Jefferson Avenue Insurance. “We are grateful to Liberty Mutual and Safeco for providing much-needed funds to continue their impactful work and thrilled at the opportunity to double the donation just by calling on the community to show their support.”

Jefferson Avenue employees are actively involved with Face to Face centers throughout the year. They assist with meal preparation in the nonprofit's kitchens, volunteer to engage with residents, and contribute to food and clothing drives. In addition to their regular visits, new team members at Jefferson have also visited Face to Face on their orientation day, allowing them to give back to the community from their first day on the job and instilling more meaning and purpose to their employment.

Jefferson Avenue also promotes Face to Face’s fundraising efforts across their digital channels and supports clothing and food drives by collecting and donating items to the organization.

Jefferson Avenue Insurance is a shining example of our independent agents’ endless dedication to their nonprofit partners through their volunteering, fundraising and overall awareness efforts,” said Andrew Amaro, Liberty Mutual or Safeco Insurance Mid-Atlantic Region Senior Territory Manager. “The Make More Happen Awards allow our agents to spread the word about their good deeds and we hope it inspires others in the Philadelphia-area to get involved.”

Throughout 2023, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 37 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $370,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application and photos demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit.
