Fischer Announces Infrastructure Law Grants for Eppley, Lincoln Airports

LINCOLN, NEB. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Senate Commerce Committee, today announced major grants for two airports in Nebraska. Omaha Eppley Airport will receive $20.9 million, and the Lincoln Airport will receive $414,900. Both grants will support terminal modernization efforts.

These Airport Terminal Program Grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) were made possible by the 2021 infrastructure law, which Senator Fischer supported.

“The infrastructure bill has already brought over a billion dollars to Nebraska to help revitalize our aging transportation network. At Eppley Airport, this $20.9 million grant will help upgrade the terminal and increase capacity. At the Lincoln Airport, this $415,000 grant will support terminal enhancements and help address screening area constraints. This is yet another exciting development for travelers and our state’s economy,” said Senator Fischer.

“We are very thankful at the Omaha Airport Authority to be receiving $20.9 million in funding from the Federal Aviation Administration via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The efforts of Senator Fischer in the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law are greatly appreciated, as this funding will create many benefits here in Nebraska for travelers who fly through Eppley Airfield. These funds will support the next phase of Terminal Entrance Drive improvements at Eppley Airfield. Nebraska travelers and visitors will benefit from this good news with increased capacity, improved throughput, and an enhanced customer experience for decades to come,” said Dave Roth, Chief Executive Officer of the Omaha Airport Authority.
