From: South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem

PIERRE, S.D. – On May 13th, Governor Kristi Noem ordered that flags be flown at half-staff statewide from sunrise until sunset on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Peace Officers Memorial Day honors law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. It falls during National Police Week, which honors all law enforcement officers, past and present, who selflessly serve our communities.

We are thankful for the sacrifices of law enforcement officers and their families.
