Peabo Bryson Live in Concert

"Peabo" Bryson is an American singer and songwriter. He is known for singing soul ballads, including the 1983 hit "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" with Roberta Flack. In addition, Bryson has contributed to two Disney animated feature soundtracks, including Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. Bryson is a winner of two Grammy Awards. 

Peabo Bryson has established a career as one of the last quarter century's premier male vocalists in contemporary music. Possessing a beautifully rich, almost operatic voice, this two-time Grammy Award-winner has survived and prospered despite the passage of time and changes in popular musical trends.

With twenty albums to his credit, Peabo Bryson has enjoyed an unprecedented, across-the-board level of international success. Bryson is the first artist in music history to have separate records topping four different charts.

FIM and 98.9 are collaborating to present the “Labor Day Blues Bowl” concert on Sunday, September 4 at 7:30 pm at The Whiting Auditorium. The star-studded event features performances by a legendary lineup of artists, including Calvin Richardson, Willie Clayton, and Lenny Williams.

Message from the executive office

We’re enjoying these fabulous summer days and busy planning a month of events to launch a new brand that celebrates an expanded FIM — September Spectacular.

The opening celebration is a Family Fun Open House & Scavenger Hunt for Flint School of Performing Arts students, families and the entire community. Join us on August 31 at Dort Music Center from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. This is a free event, but we ask you to register.

The closing celebration is a Spectacular Party immediately following the long-awaited BCO-Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald Concert with the Flint Symphony Orchestra at Whiting Auditorium. Join us for DJs, Dancing, Silent Auction, Food, Drinks and Fun!

Sponsorships for September Spectacular are available and will support KidsTix, a new program that expands access to the arts by covering the cost of tickets for economically challenged kids and their families.
