This year, Jazz at MacArthur Hall features an evening of music from the Classic Blue Note record label. Blue Note was a trendsetting label that recorded artists such as Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, Art Blakey, Joe Henderson, and many others in the 1960s.

This year's guest artist is James Carter, one of the greatest saxophonists of our time. He’ll be joined by Dwight Adams - trumpet, Ali Jackson - drums, Noah Jackson – bass, and Roger Jones – piano.

The Flint School of Performing Arts will present “Lullabies Live: A Mother’s Love in Song." Ten songs from FSPA’s Carnegie Hall Lullaby Projects will be performed live in a fundraiser to support future projects.

The Lullaby Project invites young pregnant women and new parents to work with professional musicians to create a personalized lullaby for their children. When the Carnegie Hall Lullaby Project was established in 2015, FSPA was one of only 15 organizations invited to take part, making it one of the pioneers. Of the 15 original organizations, six were able to complete a lullaby in the first year, and FSPA was one of them.

FSPA lullabies have been performed live at Carnegie Hall in New York, and have gotten hundreds of thousands of hits on the Carnegie Hall Soundcloud.

Toccata for Percussion is a melodic, textural, and colorful composition that harkens to the root of the toccare, or "to touch." Chávez's piece displays the individual touch an artist can put on any given performance.

Stravinsky's Firebird is an inventive, virtuosic use of orchestral colors and abrupt, repetitive rhythms that take audiences on an unprecedented sound journey.
