Message from the Executive Office

This Mother's Day weekend, FIM is working in tandem with the sunshine to touch hearts and lift spirits, and we hope yours will be included in that number!

Whether you choose to spend tonight at FIM Capitol Theatre with Contemporary Christian Music legend Michael W. Smith or at MacArthur Recital Hall grooving to the iconic sound of Art Blakey with renowned jazz pianist Roger Jones and friends - there is no shortage of options to feed your soul.

Saturday and Sunday, the Flint Youth Ballet will grace the stage of the U of M-Flint Theatre in the annual Festival of Dance, the last of many under the artistic direction of beloved FSPA Dance Department Chair, Karen Mills Jennings. This is a special one for FIM, as we celebrate her 43 years as a treasured talent, teacher, and friend to FIM and the Flint School of Performing Arts, and wish her well in her retirement!

Can't make it this weekend? Don't worry—vocalist Danielle Bollinger will swing into action this Wednesday to perform a free evening of music under the stars of the Capitol Theatre. Joining her is The Soggy Bottom Big Band and a few special guests.

Most importantly, we wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all the special people who deserve to be celebrated this weekend and every day.

Sincerely,

Rodney Lontine

President and CEO
