Two originals — American Sequential Art (Comic Books) and our FIRST “Top Gun,” George Washington — will come together this Fall in a unique celebration!  We’d like for you to be a part of it!

This October, Fraunces Tavern Museum, owned and operated by Sons of the Revolution? in the State of New York, Inc., will be opening a new special exhibition titled Cloaked Crusader: George Washington in Comics and Pop Culture!, highlighting Washington’s continued relevance to our collective past, present and future by using his appearance in creative works as the touchstone.

Audiences will discover how Washington’s persona has been showcased throughout pop history, going from traditional reenactments of famous events to appearances in modern times with the likes of Superman, Captain America and other famous heroes, to Washington becoming a mythical figure in his own right and a metaphor for good and justice in these creative works.  He is really, if you think about it, our FIRST superhero!

In addition, the Museum will for the first time ever be combining a physical gallery show with a virtual one that can be viewed by anyone, at anytime, anywhere in the world.

The exhibit will be located in the Mesick Gallery, one of the Museum’s most prominent exhibition spaces, and will also be accessible via our virtual gallery, which will be designed to drive audiences to our website.

The Museum is offering recognition opportunities for those who financially underwrite the infrastructure, production, and maintenance costs of this exhibition, at the following sponsorship tiers (payable in two installments, if desired):
