Frederick’s 4th – An Independence Day Celebration sponsored by Wawa

Celebrate the largest Independence Day celebration in Frederick County with two stages of entertainment alongside family-friendly rides, activities, food, and fireworks from noon to dusk.

Fireworks:

The fireworks show will be shot at dusk from Parkway Elementary School.  Grab your seat early, because the park fills up quickly.

Viewing Locations:

Suggested Locations
- Fleming Avenue Swimming Pool Area
- Frederick High School Lawn
- Carillon Area of Baker Park (Band Shell Seating Area view is obstructed)

While the show is visible from the majority of the open spaces within the park, visibility will be limited in any of these areas if you are sitting in front of trees or other tall objects.

Entertainment:

Two stages of live entertainment at both ends of Baker Park and our Beer and Wine Gardens keep the 4th rockin’ and rollin’ right through the fireworks at dusk!

Baker Park Band Shell Stage

Baker Park near Talley Recreation Center

Catch all the entertainment in the Carillon Area from one stage from 2 PM to dusk – right up until the fireworks.

Performer:

2:00pm - 3:30pm: The Dirty Middle

The Dirty Middle are Adrienne Smith, Justin Ehrlich, Matt Felipe, and Connor Sheedy. From the Frederick area, this group will be sure to get your feet moving to the groove and keep the party going! A self-described alternative blues-rock band, The Dirty Middle performs original music as well as blues covers ranging from Junior Wells to Alabama Shakes to the Grateful Dead, and more.

4:15pm - 5:45pm: Starlight Anthem

Starlight Anthem brings together seasoned musicians of the Mid-Atlantic to perform the best rock and alternative songs from the 90’s to present day. The band prides itself on high-energy, true-to-original renditions of your favorite chart-toppers from the past three decades.

6:30pm - 8:30pm: Groovalicious – 70’s Dance and Disco

Groovalicious will take you back to those care free days of bell bottoms and platforms. Disco balls, glitter., and roller skates.

Playing all the hits from the decade of boogie and the dance floor at Studio 54, we are Groovalicious the ultimate disco revival and we are bringin’ boogie back! Baby!

99.9 WFRE FREE COUNTRY Party in the Park

From morning to night, the Country Stage kicks off and closes the 99.9 WFRE ‘Party in the Park’ celebration.

Family Friendly Garden

Baker Park near Second Street Tennis Courts
21 & over with valid I.D. to drink, all guests under 21 can be admitted with a parent or guardian.

Grab some shade in this tented garden and enjoy music located in the Carillon Area by the Second Street Tennis Courts.

Beer, Wine and Spirits Gardens

Open at Noon - $5.00 One Time Cover - Three Locations

Enjoy music and adult beverages in one of three gardens located throughout Frederick’s 4th.

Pay just one $5.00 cover charge for the day to visit any of the gardens. Every garden for the day will be serving $7.50 16 oz pours of local and national brews, 5 oz sangria and wine favorites & $10.00 signature cocktails from local distilleries.

Talley Recreation Center Garden

Noon to 7:30 pm: Second Street next to the Talley Recreation Center
All garden guests must be 21 years of age or older with valid I.D. to enter and drink

Prime band shell and fireworks watching from this garden located right outside the Talley Recreation Center.

1 – 2 PM; 3:30 – 4:15 PM; 5:45 – 6:30 PM: MOONSTONE DUO
Moonstone is an energetic acoustic duo playing modern upbeat covers.

Family Friendly Garden sponsored by STROLL Ijamsville

Noon to 8:00 pm: Baker Park near Second Street Tennis Courts
21 and over with valid I.D. to drink, under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

Grab some shade in this tented garden located in the Carillon Area by the Second Street Tennis Courts.

NOON – 2:30 PM: PATTY REESE
Patty loves the intimacy and diversity of an acoustic show.  Whether opening at the Birchmere, performing at a House Concert or entertaining a private party, Patty always delivers a memorable show that leaves the listener coming back for more.

3 PM – 5:30 PM: MATT BURRIDGE
Matt Burridge is a musician in the DC/NOVA/Fredericksburg area. He plays cover sets at bars & restaurants, and also writes solo music, produces beats & remixes under the name BD LCK, and plays in the band Pulses.

6 PM – 7:30 PM: BRAD DOGGETT

Country Stage Garden:

Noon to 8:30 pm | Adjacent to Fleming Avenue Tennis Courts
21 and over only, valid I.D. to enter and drink

Enjoy a full day of musical entertainment from the convenience of this shaded garden located in the 99.9 WFRE  and O’Connor Plumbing presents ‘Party in the Park’.

Carillon Garden:

Second Street next to the Talley Recreation Center

All garden guests must be 21 years of age or older with valid I.D. to enter and drink.

Prime band shell and fireworks watching from this garden located right outside the Talley Recreation Center.

Activities:

Frederick’s 4th features activities for children of all ages throughout Baker Park.

12:30 to 6:00 pm: Amusements will be providing tons of inflatable amusements sure to keep the smile on a young child’s face. They’ll never want to leave after sliding, twirling, and climbing on air. ($) Click here for a full list of rides and tickets

FLEMING AVENUE AREA

Edward P. Thomas Jr. Municipal Pool - 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Take a refreshing dip at the Edward P. Thomas Jr. Municipal Pool, Fleming Avenue during Frederick’s 4th and shake off that July heat. Costs remain $3 for children 12 and under, handicap, and senior citizens who are city residents, $4 for non-city residents.  Adult price is $5 for city residents, $6 for non-city residents.

CULLER LAKE AREA:

Corner of W. College Terrace and W. Second Street

12:30 to 5:00 pm:

- Mingle with WFMD’s radio personalities, take a turn in the Ashley Furniture Photo Booth and check out a display of all 50 state flags!
- First 25 listeners that stop by the WFMD tent will get a FREE WFMD t-shirt!
- WFMD 4th of July Veteran Appreciation – First 50 Veterans to check in to the WFMD Tent will get a FREE WFMD portable phone charger!  Military ID required

12:30 to Dusk – Stop by for a look and casual stroll around the newly renovated Culler Lake area of Baker Park during Frederick’s 4th.
