Join us in Chinatown for the world premiere of acclaimed artist Christopher Myers' show featuring hand-crafted shadow puppets!
Fire in the Head salutes the tortured genius of Vaslav Nijinsky, who, like many artists today, grappled with the confluence between global and personal crises.
Christopher Myers, in concert with Sifiso Mabena, Marcella Murray, Ashley Winkfield, Ismail Lawal, and others will bring to life the famous diaries of this path-breaking dancer and choreographer through original shadow puppets he designed and made in collaboration with master craftsmen in Jogjakarta, Indonesia.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to see a performance at the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, a unique venue in Chinatown.
Please Note: Fire in the Head contains some harsh language and is recommended for ages 12+

Thu, Oct 6–Sat, Oct 8 at 7:30pm
FIAF Skyroom
Don't miss this world premiere at FIAF! Created in 2021 on choreographer Kimberly Bartosik’s return to the studio post-quarantine, the work is an encounter with oneself, pulling from what we are currently carrying in our bodies—grief, hope, fear, desire, newfound power—and pairing it with our dreams in this moment of reconciliation with time.
Post-Show Talk on Fri, Oct 7 with Kimberly Bartosik and Joe Melillo, Executive Producer Emeritus at BAM.
