FIAF's sixth annual Animation First Festival showcasing the legacy and innovation of francophone animation opens in less than three weeks!

The festival opens on Fri, Jan 27 with Signature Sempé, an exhibition of Jean-Jacques Sempé's iconic works; the NY premiere of Little Nicholas - Happy as can be, a charming retelling of Sempé’s and René Goscinny’s lives which co-exist within the fictitious adventures of Le Petit Nicolas, the beloved character they created; an opening night party; and Best of Annecy 2022, a program of shorts from the biggest animation festival in the world.

On Sat, Jan 28 & Sun, Jan 29, we present six more feature films (4 US and 2 NY premieres) as well as programs of shorts, a conversation with guest of honor Anca Damian, "Work in Progress” presentations, a panel discussion on Sempé and Le Petit Nicolas, video games, and AR-VR experiences.
