The City of Frisco is serving pickleballers more places to play!  Twelve outdoor courts are ready for open play or by reservation.  Eight of those courts are located at Warren Sports Complex, 7599 Eldorado Parkway.  Four more courts are open at Shawnee Trail, 6501 Hillcrest Road.  To reserve a pickleball court, players pay $5.50 per hour, per court.

“Our courts are dual purpose,” said Shannon Coates, Director of Parks & Recreation, PlayFrisco.  “These courts will serve both tennis and pickleball play.  We hired a contractor to apply pickleball lines to the tennis courts.  We’re excited to provide more places to play pickleball while continuing to serve our tennis community.”

PlayFrisco is using a third-party contractor Frisco Community Tennis to manage pickleball reservations – it’s the same company monitoring tennis court usage.  To reserve a court for either game, download the Frisco Community Tennis app from the App Store. Users will be asked to set up an account.  Once established, users may begin reserving courts. Information is also available online.

The addition of twelve dual purpose courts brings the city’s pickleball offerings to 17.  The City of Frisco also has two outdoor pickleball courts behind The Grove at Frisco Commons, 8300 McKinney Road.  The Frisco Athletic Center (FAC), 5828 Nancy Jane Lane, is home to three indoor courts.  To play at the FAC, pickleball passes are available for $50 and include 12 visits to the FAC to play during pickleball hours. Existing FAC members do not need passes.

“Frisco is a fast-growing community with an active lifestyle,” said Mayor Jeff Cheney.  “So, it’s no surprise our residents are passionate about pickleball.  Our residents have been asking for more courts for quite some time. These dual-purpose courts will help us meet our growing need.”
