Gaithersburg, MD - The City of Gaithersburg’s Cultural Arts Advisory Committee invites individual artists and art organizations to submit applications to exhibit in the City’s art galleries. Apply online here.

Applications are now being accepted for July 2023 – June 2024 exhibitions, including:

“Native Botanicals”

Fall 2023, Benjamin Gaither Center Gallery

Critical in the support of the environment is ensuring the longevity of our native species. Show us your best work featuring botanicals that are native to Maryland and help us educate the community on their importance. All wall-hung mediums are welcome.

"The Language of Trees"

Winter 2024, Arts Barn Gallery

A tree is the symbol of life, wisdom, power, prosperity, growth, and resurrection. Some cultures and tales believe trees house spiritual beings. This exhibit will feature trees as the main theme of the artwork. Both 2 and 3-D work will be considered and featured.

Other Exhibitions Not Within Themes

In addition to the open themed exhibits, we will be hosting one to two solo or small group exhibitions at the Community Room at 16 South Summit Avenue, featuring 10-15 pieces per exhibit, and two group exhibitions at the Benjamin Gaither Center featuring up to 30 pieces of artwork per exhibit. These exhibits are open in theme and the artist/artist group may include their ideas in their proposal.  

Please note there are no group or solo slots available at the Arts Barn, Kentlands Mansion or Activity Center at Bohrer Park for FY2024.

All applications must be received by 11:30 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023, and all fees must be received by Friday, January 6, 2023. All applicants will be notified by Friday, February 17, 2023, of submission results.
