Business and Professional

October 9, 2023

Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Kingspoint Insurance Agency a 2023 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with Generation SERVE, a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging children in volunteerism and empower them to make a difference in their communities. The award includes an initial donation of $5,000 for Generation SERVE, which can be doubled to $10,000 just by having community supporters vote online.

Starting Monday, October 2, the Kingspoint Insurance Agency and Generation SERVE community story will be highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/Kingspoint-Insurance-Agency, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives a mix of at least 500 votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be raised to $10,000.

The donation will impact two of Generation SERVE’s initiatives which includes crafting a New Volunteer Welcome Packet to best equip new volunteers and foster lasting relationships they have with their volunteer families. The funds will also aid their Service Learning Program which engages youth in volunteerism and nurtures their personal, professional and community growth

By supporting Generation SERVE, we are confident that we are actively investing in our community's future, knowing that these young leaders will carry the torch of compassion and civic responsibility,” said Terri Le, VP of Operations and Marketing for Kingspoint Insurance Agency. “We are grateful to Liberty Mutual and Safeco for providing much-needed funds to continue their impactful work and thrilled at the opportunity to double the donation just by calling on the community to show their support.”

Joining efforts with Generation SERVE, the agency works to collectively build a brighter, more compassionate future for young people. Throughout the year, Kingspoint serves as a corporate sponsor, providing crucial financial resources to help Generation SERVE sustain and expand its community reach. The agency hosts fundraising events like the annual Family Volunteer Day, which invites the community to meet with different charities and volunteer on-site, and they lend their conference room to Generation SERVE to hold committee meetings. Terri Le is always in attendance as she serves as Co-Chair of the Houston Site Committee and Activity Lead for various events with the nonprofit. Kingspoint actively connects Generation SERVE with other organizations seeking help and created a referral program where they donate $5 to the nonprofit with each referral they receive.

Kingspoint Insurance Agency is a shining example of our independent agents’ endless dedication to their nonprofit partners through their volunteering, fundraising and overall awareness efforts,” said Ahmad Peterkin, Liberty Mutual Insurance Central Region Senior Territory Manager. “The Make More Happen Awards allow our agents to spread the word about their good deeds and we hope it inspires others in Houston to get involved.”

Throughout 2023, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 37 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $370,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application and photos demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit.

About Generation SERVE

Generation SERVE was founded in Austin in 2009 and expanded to Houston in November 2019. Since then, we have facilitated meaningful volunteer experiences for families, engaging children ages 3-17 in community service and inspiring lifelong volunteerism. We focus on education outside of the classroom. Children learn the value of helping others while serving the community through age-appropriate, hands-on volunteer activities.

Generation SERVE believes, and studies have shown, that youth who engage in volunteering are more philanthropic and caring individuals as they enter adulthood and often remain lifetime volunteers, even passing the passion on to their children. Generation SERVE is proud to be a part of providing this opportunity and shaping the leaders of tomorrow, through volunteering today.
