Art Exhibit and Reception: Maureen DeSisto

The Library is pleased to exhibit artist Maureen DeSisto’s work for the month of November. There will be a reception on Monday, November 27 at 6:30PM. All are welcome to attend.

Holiday Closure 

The Library will be closed on Saturday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. The Library will reopen on Monday, November 13 at 2PM.

Thanksgiving Hours

Wednesday, November 22 - Open 2-5
Thursday, November 23 - CLOSED
Friday, November 24 - CLOSED
Saturday, November 25 - CLOSED

UPCOMING EVENTS

Baby and Toddler Storytime
Tuesdays 10AM-10:30AM until Tuesday, November 14

Ages birth to 2 1/2 years
Program will include two to three books, songs, finger-plays, and circle games. Siblings are welcome.  Families are welcome to stay and play afterwards.

Family Outdoor Story Time
Fridays 10AM-10:30AM until Friday, November 17

While the weather is still nice we will offer Storytime on the lawn for families of all ages.  If the weather does not cooperate the program will be brought inside the meeting room.  Bring something to sit on and sit back and enjoy the stories and activities.

Saturday Family Storytime
Saturday, November 4 10AM-10:30AM

Families are invited to a Saturday morning Storytime. The program will include 3 to 4 books, rhymes and songs, and a craft or activity. This program is for all ages.

Play Group
Thursdays, November 9 & 30 at 10AM

Families are invited to the library to play and explore with toys and everyday materials.

All ages are welcome, keep in mind there may be some small parts.

Pajama Story Time
Wednesday, November 8 at 6:45PM

Come to a pajama story time at the library. Books, songs and a quiet activity will be provided. Wearing pajamas is encouraged. This program is for all ages.

A Discussion on Funeral Planning
Thursday, November 9 at 7PM

Please join us for a virtual in depth conversation and Q&A session with funeral director and former funeral home owner, Rick Dewhirst. Register online.

Reading to a Library Dog
Monday, November 13 at 4PM

Come and read to Aston, a certified therapy dog. Registration is required. This program is designed to help develop reading skills and is recommended for children who want to practice their reading fluency.

LEGO Build
Friday, November 17 3PM-4:30PM

Do you love to build?  Families are invited to drop in to build with LEGO’s and maybe other building materials.  A new building challenge will be available every program, but you are free to build what you want.

An Evening with Bestselling Authors Tess Gerritsen & Paul Doiron
Monday, November 20 at 7PM

Bestselling author Tess Gerritsen will discuss her brand new book, The Spy Coast, in conversation with bestselling author Paul Doiron. A retired CIA operative in small-town Maine tackles the ghosts of her past in this fresh take on the spy thriller. Register online.

Beginner Book Club
Tuesday, November 14 at 4PM

For anyone in Kindergarten – 2nd grade.  Join us for a book discussion and questions, along with jokes, riddles, and a craft! The book will be provided and read together (independent reading skills are not required). Registration is required.

Senior Center Book Group
Wednesday, November 15 at 2PM

This month's selection is The Christie Affair by Nina de Gramont. This group meets at the Georgetown Senior Center. Copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk. Questions? Contact Sarah at [email protected]

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

Author Talk: Alena Dillon
Wednesday, November 29 at 6:30PM

The Friends of the Georgetown Peabody Library are pleased to host author Alena Dillon.

Alena Dillon is the author of Mercy House, a Library Journal Best Book of 2020, The Happiest Girl in the World, a Good Morning America pick, My Body Is A Big Fat Temple, a memoir of pregnancy and early parenting, and Eyes Turned Skyward, a dual timeline WWII novel about the Women Airforce Service Pilots.
