Building Your Business from Scratch

Looking to kick-start your entrepreneurial journey? Then mark your calendars for the Arizona Microcredit Initiative team's workshop at the Velma Teague Library on Saturday, April 8, from 1-2 PM. In addition to learning about the business model canvas and creating a value proposition, you'll have a chance to ask questions about starting and growing a successful business.

So, You Want to Be a Veterinarian?

Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a veterinarian? Find out about the education and training required to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, as well as the many different jobs veterinarians can do. Dr. Laura Waitt Wolker, a DACVIM-certified veterinarian from Midwestern University, will be presenting at the Foothills Library on Monday, April 10, from 6:30-8 PM.

Water Awareness Day

Looking for a fun and informative way to learn about water conservation? Join the discussion about Glendale's water resources, drought management plan, and stormwater on Saturday, April 15, from 9 AM-1:30 PM at the Main Library. There will be plenty of activities for the whole family, including crafts for the kids and desert-wise landscape classes for adults.

Learn proper pruning techniques for trees and shrubs from certified arborist Jonathan Manning. Discover how to keep your landscape healthy and attractive with Andrew Pirrone, Water Conservation Coordinator for the city of Goodyear. Find out about Glendale's stormwater system and how to prevent pollution. You can even participate in our plant/seed exchange and take a guided bird walk through the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden.

Glendale 100: 1950s Spacecraft Launch

Calling all teens, ages 12-18! Take a trip back to the '50s and create and launch your very own UFO. But watch out — the alien must land safely! Don't miss out on an out-of-this-world experience on Sunday, April 2, from 1-3 PM at the Heroes Regional Park Library.

This program is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Level Up! D&D @ Main

Get ready for a night of adventure and friendship with other teens, ages 12-18, playing Dungeons & Dragons at the Main Library on Monday, April 10, from 6-7 PM. Whether you're a beginner using one of our characters or an expert with your own level 1 character, we summon you to take part in our epic quest! So, gather your fellow teen rogues, fighters and druids, and let's embark on an unforgettable journey together! 

Arizona Broadway Theatre: A Year with Frog and Toad

Experience the heartwarming tale of A Year with Frog and Toad, based on the beloved books by Arnold Lobel and brought to life by the Arizona Broadway Theatre for Young Audiences. Join best friends Frog and Toad on their journey through the seasons, as they plant gardens, go swimming, rake leaves, go sledding and learn valuable life lessons. Don't miss your chance to see this charming performance at the Main Library on Thursday, April 6, from 4-5 PM or at the Foothills Library on Friday, April 14, from 4-5 PM.

This performance is funded by a City of Glendale Performing Arts Grant.
