New Library Hours

Beginning Tuesday, September 5, all Glendale Public Libraries have extended hours! The new hours are as follows:

Mondays: 10 AM-8 PM

Tuesdays: 10 AM-4 PM

Wednesdays: 10 AM-4 PM

Thursdays: 10 AM-8 PM

Fridays: 10 AM-6 PM

Saturdays: 10 AM-5 PM

Sundays: 1 PM-5 PM

Afternoon of Music with Cowboy Wrecks and Laura Joy

Experience the original melodies of singer/songwriters Cowboy Wrecks and Laura Joy on Sunday, September 3, from 2-4 PM at the Main Library Auditorium. Cowboy Wrecks will take you on a journey from Americana to folk, while Laura Joy will perform acoustic pop originals.

Library Coffeehouses

Acoustic Music by Talented Local Musicians

Unwind with us on Thursday, September 7, from 6:30-8 PM at the Foothills Library. Clearwater Creek offers a folk music experience while As Is brings classic light rock covers and originals.

Enjoy the sounds of Clydene Balke performing Americana, country, and pop covers, as well as Mike Krzyston's fingerstyle guitar and vocals, on Thursday, September 14, from 6:30-7:30 PM at the Main Library.

Teen Doodle Art Contest

Doodling is the art of drawing pictures or patterns when you’re bored or thinking about something else. Drop by the Velma Teague Library Teen Zone anytime during September and create your own doodle art masterpiece. Paper and colored pencils will be provided. Submit your drawing at the Public Service Desk and library staff will pick their favorite doodle art entry on Monday, October 2. The winner will receive a skateboard prize pack! Ages 12-18.

Teen STEAM Lab: Science of Gigantic Soap Bubbles

Master the skills of giant bubble makers on Thursday, September 14, from 5:30-7 PM at the Heroes Regional Park Library! Explore the chemistry and physics behind gigantic soap bubbles, prepare the soapy solution and tools, and amuse your friends and family with your new scientific craft. Ages 12-18.

Teen programs at the Main Library are switching from Monday nights to Thursday nights! Tabletop Game Night is now the first Thursday of every month, beginning Thursday, September 7, from 6-7 PM. D&D @ Main will be held on the second Thursday, with the first session of our new campaign starting Thursday, September 14, from 6-7 PM!

Legos @ the Library

Wild Wednesday: Lego Mania @ Main

Get your creativity in gear and build Lego masterpieces with us on Wednesday, September 6, from 2-3 PM at the Main Library! Whether it's a cool car, spaceship, or dream home, the sky is the limit in this program
designed for ages 5-11. Younger children may attend if accompanied by an adult.

Stop in at the Velma Teague Library on Thursday, September 7, from 6:30-7:30 PM or the Foothills Library on Monday, September 11, from 4-5 PM, and build fabulous Lego creations with us! Families with kids aged 3-12 can work alone or in groups at this Lego free building session. 

Steam Kids Club: Lego Building Challenge

Embark on an epic Lego adventure on Wednesday, September 13, from 1:30-2:30 PM at the Heroes Regional Park Library. Kids aged 6-12 will tackle thrilling building challenges that will test their engineering skills and ignite their problem-solving prowess.

A-"maize"-ing Fall Steam Activity

Kids aged 5-11 can get a jump start on fall decorations with these colorful corns. Learn about the science and cultural importance of the Three Sisters on Thursday, September 14, from 4-5 PM at the Main Library.

Full Steam Ahead: Candy Experiments

Put those STEAM skills to work by conducting experiments on candy at the Velma Teague Library on Thursday, September 14, from 6:30-7:30 PM! Use the scientific method to make predictions, then test your hypothesis to see if you were correct. We will go through a variety of experiments together during this program, which is sure to be fun for the whole family!
