On Thursday, July 28, Governor Steve Sisolak will tour HELP of Southern Nevada to discuss the weatherization program funded by state and federal funding. Nevada has applied for $24 million in Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funds to expand Nevada’s Weatherization Assistance program and help more Nevadans.

During the tour, the Governor will be shown demonstrations of the process to weatherize homes and will discuss the importance as extreme heat impacts our communities and how weatherization can save Nevadans money on utility bills.

The Governor will be joined by representatives from HELP of Southern Nevada, the Nevada Housing Division and the Nevada Rural Housing Authority as well as clients whose homes have been weatherized through the program.

As part of the Governor’s Nevada Climate Series 2022 aimed at increasing awareness of the impacts of climate change and ensuring Nevadans have the resources they need, the Governor will launch a resource guide to make sure families have the tools to easily weatherize their homes and connect them to weatherization programs across the state.
