Governor Spencer Cox Appoints Angela Adams to Fifth District Juvenile Court

Salt Lake City, UT -- Utah Gov. Spencer J. Cox has appointed Angela Adams to Utah’s Fifth District Juvenile Court, filling a position created by the retirement of Judge Paul Dame. Judicial appointments are subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.

“I’m impressed with the broad range of experiences and expertise Angela will bring to the Fifth District Juvenile Court,” Gov. Cox said. “I’m grateful for her dedication to public service and I’m confident the people of Utah will continue to benefit from her service as a Juvenile Court judge.” 

Adams is currently a deputy county attorney in the Washington County Attorney’s Office and private adoption attorney. She previously served as a Guardian ad Litem attorney in the Office of the Guardian ad Litem. Adams currently serves as a board member on the Statewide Association of Prosecutors and Public Attorneys (SWAP), on the executive committee of the Juvenile Justice Oversight Committee (JJOC) and is a previous board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah. Adams is also a founding member and chairperson of Reading For Life-Southern Utah. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and a juris doctorate from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.

Cox to be a Juvenile Court judge in the Fifth District,” Adams said. “I am passionate about the youth and families that are served by the Juvenile Court in our community and am committed to serving them with integrity and fairness. I look forward to this amazing opportunity.”
