From: Groton Public Library

Groton, CT - The Groton Public Library, Bill Memorial Library, and Mystic & Noank Library are proud to announce that they now offer access to Mango Languages.

Mango is an online language learning tool that prepares learners of all ages for realistic conversations and communication in over 70 world languages. Some of the diverse languages available are Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Korean, Tagalog, and more. With over 20 different English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, learners can develop their speaking skills more confidently through courses created in their native languages.

Participants build on the four conversational skills necessary to establish meaningful connections in a new language: vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and culture. Lessons involve a mix of listening and reading activities, so you can make sense of written and spoken contexts. High-quality native speaker recordings allow you to train your ear to the nuances of pronunciation and accent.

Mango is accessible in the library and at home via the links on the Groton libraries’ websites. Learn on the go by downloading the mobile app for both Apple and Android devices. This resource is free to use with a Groton Public, Bill Memorial, or Mystic & Noank library card. Create an account using your library card number, select a language, and start learning! To learn more, ask a librarian for an introduction.
