Groton Public Library to Host Meet and Greet with 2022 Connecticut’s Kid Governor

GROTON, CT. — The Groton Public Library will host a meet and greet with 2022 Connecticut’s Kid Governor Makhi Ettienne-Modeste on Saturday, September 24, at 10 a.m. Students, parents, teachers, and the general public are invited to stop by to meet Kid Governor Makhi, learn about his platform and how they can support it, hear about his exciting term in office, and participate in an interactive activity. Makhi will also share how his 5th-grade constituents can participate in this fall’s election for the 2023 Connecticut’s Kid Governor.

Major funding and partnership support for the 2022 Connecticut’s Kid Governor Library Circuit has been provided by CT Humanities.

Connecticut’s Kid Governor® is a national award-winning, statewide civics program created by The Connecticut Democracy Center at Connecticut’s Old State House. This ground-breaking approach to civics education immerses fifth-grade students in learning about state government, elections and voting, and civic participation through a real-life election for their state’s Kid Governor.
