8th Annual Salsa Squared

July 22nd 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.

It’s back! The time has come to dance the night away in the heart of Harvard Square! Free dance lessons, music from one of Boston’s most sought after DJs and cold beer in the Wusong Road al fresco Tiki beer garden!

Feel the beat and the heat! Join the Harvard Square Business Association on Brattle Plaza (in front of Bluestone Lane Café at 27 Brattle Street) on Friday, July 22nd from 7pm – 10pm and experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the 8th Annual Salsa Squared Dance Party. Take salsa and Bachata dance lessons, dance the night away to infectious Latin beats and raise a glass to the hottest night of the summer in the Wusong Road Tiki beer garden.

Satisfy your salsa and chip cravings with free samples from El Jefe’s Taqueria and the Harvard Square Business Association.

We are pleased to partner again this year with our musical host, DJ D. Martinez. D. adds his unique blend of Latin sounds at some of the most popular dance events in and around Boston. Also returning is accomplished Salsa and Latin dance instructor extraordinaire Jennifer Earls, who will be teaching us Latin dance steps and how to move with rhythm and style that grabs attention on the dance floor. She’s performed and taught Salsa professionally with the world-renowned Masacote Entertainment’s Latin Dance Company and has been dancing and instructing Salsa and other Latin dance forms for the past decade.

This event is free and open to the public. For information about this event and all events in Harvard Square, please visit harvardsquare.com.

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel - Boston Cambridge

Over the Charles Boston Rooftop Bar, in partnership with Springdale Beer Co, is pleased to announce a live summer acoustic series – OTC Sunset Sounds. For eight weeks through August 25 (no show on July 28th), local Berklee College of Music graduate – Zubin Thomas – will perform on the rooftop from 8:00p.m. until 10:00p.m., with no cover required. This talented multi-instrumentalist will help usher in the sunset with an indie-folk style that is both airy and gritty, setting the mood for a chill and relaxing evening under the stars. Pairing perfectly with your musical experience is a Springdale's Rainbows and Butterflies 9% Hazy Double IPA brewed with Motueka and Nelson hops. Rainbows and Butterflies is part of a rotating Hazy IPA series that includes one-off beers inspired by songs picked by their staff. This particular beer and label design was inspired by the song "Heartbreaker" by Toronto-based electronic music duo MSTRKRFT. Listen to the full playlist here

Cambridge Artists Cooperative

Cambridge Artists Cooperative welcomes three new artists.

Roze Malone ~ Seaweaves

Collecting sea glass comes naturally to anyone who's walked along the beach. Roze Malone has taken that everyday soothing activity and applied her artistic gift to create SeaWeaves, hand-crafted wearable art that combines sea glass, wire weaving and re-imagined vintage jewelry.

Ilana Krepchin

All of my jewelry is hand-made. My creations combine a sense of fun and purpose with essential interests from my past. I've always been drawn to mathematical concepts - now they inform my art, as in the miniature mobius strips and fractal jewelry I make. I love texture, color and unusual forms. All of this comes together as "sculpture to wear"

Ann Dillon

I come from a long line of artisans and magpies. Design, color, and texture have always been major components of my life in one form or another. Since 1993, I've been working with polymer clay, making mainly beads and jewelry. Each piece I create is unique, and I'm constantly learning and incorporating new techniques and inspirations into my work.

Cambridge Streets for All

Cambridge Streets for All (CSA) is a citywide, advocacy organization formed by and for Cambridge residents, business owners, medical providers, and faith organizations.

CSA wants to stop the city’s implementation of flexi post bike lanes and the harm it’s causing our community. Our businesses are losing vital customer parking on commercial streets, and our neighborhoods are losing residential off-street parking and facing increased traffic congestion. CSA is advocating for a street plan based on comprehensive impact studies and community engagement in which all parties are heard. We want "smart-build" not "quick-build".

Learn more about the CSA at cambridgeforall.org. Please consider making a tax-deductible, anonymous donation to help make Cambridge streets accessible for all.
