Friends Holiday Photo Shoot Fundraiser
Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library Fundraiser"Capture the Moment" Mini photo session with Hopkinton Photographer Tricia LaCascia. October 21-22 and October 28-29.
Sittings:Mornings 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Afternoons 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm   $100 fee for 20 minute session.

Acrobatic Performance with Li Liu (OB/OH)  1:00—2:00 PM
'Traditions of Chinese Acrobatics' is a one-woman acrobatic performance. Li Liu performs hand balancing, plate spinning, ribbon dancing, diabolos and foot juggling. A limited number of volunteers get to join her on stage to create an impromptu ribbon dance, and also to try their hand at plate spinning.

Josee Vachon French Canadian Singer (OB/OH)  3:00—4:00 PM
Join us for a coffee house (and juice for the wee ones!) for a family performance from Josee Vachon, a renowned French-Canadian  singer and musician.   Josee will bring traditional French-Canadian music to the library. This family performance will feature songs in French, English, and Spanish.

Halloween Magic Show with Greg Dwyer

Teens and adults are invited to join the Hopkinton Public Library and Hopkinton Senior Services for an engaging night of Halloween mind-reading magic courtesy of Greg Dwyer. Join us, if you dare, for an evening of spine-tingling enchantment that will linger in your thoughts long after the Halloween moon sets. Prepare to have your mind read, your beliefs shattered, and your imagination pushed to its limits. Welcome to the Haunting Halls of Mind, where the whispers of the paranormal become a symphony of wonder.

Pesky Pronouns & a Drowning Dog: Adventures in Translating Fiction 
For such a seemingly straightforward and innocent part of speech, pronouns have been in the news a lot lately. But what happens when a whole story hinges on pronouns that English doesn’t even have? Come and hear translator David Dollenmayer describes his pronoun adventures when translating from German into English.

"A Time to Spout Off" Pottery Event

Join us for an interactive pottery event with the Pied Potter Hamelin. This workshop is a celebration of the similarities and differences experienced with many cultures by way of a pot of tea. The history of teapots will take shape on the potter’s wheel. Registration required.
