Houston, TX - Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) is pleased to announce that Mary Headrick, the Center's Communications Director of more than eight years, has been appointed as Interim Executive Director. Ms. Headrick began serving in this role as of May 1st, following the departure of Executive Director Julie Farr. Ms. Headrick has been a member of HCCC's executive staff since 2006 and has more than 18 years of management experience in marketing and communications, special events, publicity, and media relations.
A native Houstonian, Ms. Headrick began her professional career in Denver, Colorado, where she lived for 10 years. She served as Marketing Director at Brad Adams Walker Architecture, P.C., and was Director of Marketing & Communications at the Western States Arts Federation prior to returning to Houston to join HCCC. She holds a BA in Art/Art History and Spanish from Rice University.
As the Interim Executive Director, Ms. Headrick will work closely with the HCCC Board and staff to ensure a smooth transition as the organization searches for its new executive director. "We feel very confident that Mary has the ability and experience necessary to guide the staff through this transition," Victoria Lightman, Board President, said. "She has the full support of both the Board and staff, and we will collaborate to support Mary with any and all resources needed." The Board has formed a search committee and hopes to find a new executive director for HCCC within the next six months.
