What happens after happily ever after?

"Into The Woods" follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King's Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later.

The cast includes Wes Munsil (Narrator/Mysterious Man), Shahara Ray (Witch), Shane Delavan (Baker), Boni McIntyre (Baker's Wife), Annie Malin (Cinderella), Zach Nick (Jack), Vicki Pierce (Mother), Hannah Meg Weinraub (Little Red), Camille Jasensky (Rapunzel), Michael Donahue (Cinderella's Prince/Wolf), Tanner Sands (Rapunzel's Prince/Wold), Erin Bell (Stepmother), Rachel Whyte (Lucinda), Nora Livingston (Florinda) EddieShumacher (Steward) Craig Ross (Cinderella's Father) and Katie Mangett (Grandmother/Giant's Wife).

"Into The Woods" draws plot lines and characters from a variety of Brothers Grimm fairy tales. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim were drawn by the true morals of the main characters of these stories. However, they found that the stories were all very short and, rather than creating an entirely new tale or trying to expand material for just one story, they created the characters of the Baker and his wife. They aimed to make the first act about each character's individual quest, and the second act about the consequences of their actions and coming together as a community. Sondheim also claims that he drew on parts of his troubled childhood, using his parents as the basis for characters like the Baker and Jack's Mother.
