April 22, 2013From: Connecticut Food Bank
Connecticut Food Bank thanks the more than 2,500 men, women, teens and children who are dedicated to giving their time and talent to help their hungry neighbors.
And because it's National Volunteer Week, we wanted to acknowledge the 14,460 hours that volunteers gave us last year at special events, food drives, and in our warehouses and offices.
Every year, Connecticut Food Bank's 600 food-assistance programs help approximately 300,000 people who are affected by hunger, 99,000 of them children. We thank all volunteers who give of themselves to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling to feed themselves and their families.
