SPRINGFIELD – On, January 18th, the Board will vote on the fiscal year 2024 recommended budget for higher education. The budget recommendations invest in achieving the three goals of the higher education strategic plan – A Thriving Illinois: Equity, Sustainability and Growth – and build on the historic investments of the last fiscal year.

The Board will also hear presentations from Dr. Guiyou Huang, president of Western Illinois University, and Dr. Brian Caputo, president of College of DuPage, on important work underway at each of their campuses aligned to the strategic plan for higher education to close equity gaps.
