From: Jazz and Oysters FestivalJoin us for outstanding music and delectable food at the Port of Peninsula where freshly harvested oysters and other shellfish are brought in daily. Plan to celebrate, listen to our line-up of amazing performers, enjoy the view of Willapa bay and feast on delicious food and beverages.
Schedule of Events
11 am: Gates Open
12 pm - Ilwaco High School Jazz Band
Our talented school jazz band will kick off the event with music selected to start the festivities.
1 pm - Ranger and the Re-Arrangers
Seattle's "Gypsy Jazz" band Ranger and the "Re-Arrangers" evoke the spirit of a Paris cafe and the energy of a Romani campsite with their version of Hot Club Swing. The band's repertoire includes swing standards, traditional European melodies, the music of Django Reinhardt, and Ranger's unique originals.
3 pm - Ellen Whyte Ensemble
Ellen is known for her astonishing vocals, as she moves among genres from blues to jazz to funk and ballads. She's won numerous awards for her work, including consideration for two Grammy Award nominations in 1999 and most recently in 2009 for "Four Way Stop."
5 pm - Mel Brown B3 Quartet
The best in classic blues and jazz created by Mel Brown and his incredible band made up of amazing well-known musicians.
