Johnstown Chapter of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) Meets in November November 16, 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Judy Inboden 814-532-0124 jinboden@atlanticbb.net JOHNSTOWN, PA The Johnstown (PA) Chapter #1130 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) met for their monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association is one of America's oldest and largest associations, with the mission of protecting the earned rights and benefits of America's active and retired federal workers. The largest federal employee/retiree organization, NARFE represents the retirement interests of nearly five million current and future federal annuitants, spouses and survivors. The group was addressed by Mr. Wade Meyer of Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield regarding Federal retiree health care choices for the next year. Mr. Meyer highlighted the various health insurance differences and options, including wellness discounts and benefits for the attendees. He also answered specific questions from the audience and provided literature and promotional items from the company. (see photo) The Johnstown NARFE chapter would like to invite any current active or retired Federal employees in the region to attend upcoming meetings, generally held on the third Wednesday of the month at the Mirage Room, behind Asiago's Restaurant, at 800 Scalp Avenue. Meetings include a paid lunch and begin at 11:30 AM. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 14 at 11:30 am. The first year's dues are $45 for National NARFE membership and include the annual Chapter dues of $10. Members receive a wealth of information and support on issues relevant to both active and retired federal employees and through our National headquarters, have a voice in Washington D.C.
