WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tim Kaine issued the following statement today after successfully pushing to strip an unprecedented provision to greenlight the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) from the government funding bill:

“Like so many Virginians, I’m relieved we defeated the attempt to greenlight the Mountain Valley Pipeline without normal administrative and judicial review. Now we can move on and fulfill our responsibility to fund the government.”
