TOPEKA, KS - The Kansas Democratic Party hosted Democrats from across the state at their annual Washington Days state convention in Topeka on March 15 and 16.

Over two days of programming, constituency groups, county party members, and other attendees socialized, networked, and worked together to build strength for November.

The Party presented awards to individuals with outstanding contributions to the state –– Senator Oletha Faust-Goudeau, Nancy Pence, Mark Schaukowitch, Dr. Emily Walters, Monica Vargas, Brandie Armstrong, Chris Wing, and Ethel Edwards.

Guests heard from Senate Democratic Leader Dinah Sykes, House Democratic Leader Vic Miller, and Lieutenant Governor David Toland.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz gave keynote addresses at the dinner banquet. The Party was also honored to feature the Washburn Rural High School Air Force JROTC and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation in dinner celebrations.

“I’m thrilled to announce that Washington Days was a resounding success. Kansas Democrats are highly motivated and hardworking. It’s extremely special when we’re able to gather together in one place,” said KDP Chair Jeanna Repass. “I also want to extend a special thank you to our sponsors and speakers who helped make this event possible.”
