. KEEP KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25, an organization that aims to make the streets safer for all who walk, cycle, play, drive and ride, was recently awarded a $10,000 donation from 1 Source Insurance Agency through the 2019 Safeco Insurance® Make More Happen Award program. According to Drive Smart Colorado, traffic issues, and speeding in particular, have long been one of the top citizen complaints to City Council and area law enforcement. In 2003 the City of Colorado Springs initiated an aggressive program to reduce speeding in neighborhoods, and to help improve the overall safety environment in the community.

KEEP KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25 will use these funds to provide signs to further educate community members about the speed limit on residential roads. Colorado Springs-based 1 Source Insurance Agency originally received $5,000 for KEEP KIDS ALIVE DRIVE 25 through a submission process, and Safeco offered Mike Everson, Agency Principal of 1 Source Insurance, an additional chance to raise even more funds through social media support via the official Safeco Insurance Facebook page. Together, they were able to raise an additional $5,000 by having their story shared on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn at least 250 times over the course of a week to total the donation to $10,000.
