Kern County Library Launches In-Person Fairs and Online Workshop Series to Support Job Seekers in Kern County!

To support job seekers in Kern County, the Kern County Library is offering multiple in-person job, vocational, and career training fairs and online workshops through August, all FREE to the public. This is all in addition to the workforce efforts currently provided to the public by the Kern County Library in the form of:

Scheduling a Job Seeking Appointment! For job seekers looking for one-on-one support, schedule an appointment with the Library for workforce assistance, accessibly across the County in-person, on the phone, and/or online. 

Tutoring and Resume Help! The Kern County Library can assist learners through the BrainFuse platform, accessible in-person or online with a Kern Library card. Brainfuse is also available for resumes, job coaching, veterans resources, and more. 

Community Job Board: Keep track of local, state, and federal job leads on the Kern County Library's digital Community Job Board, made possible through the Library's partnership with Job Fest.

Vocational Training & Job Training Programs
for Youth Ages 16-24
Beale Memorial Library
Thursday, August 4 @ 4-6pm
Presented by the Kern County Library and Aspiranet, this fair will feature community agencies focused on Certified Vocational Training and Employment Opportunities, Job Readiness Programs, and Paid Work Experience programs that are currently available for youth ages 16 to 24 and living Kern County. Participating agencies and organizations include Amazon, America's Job Center of Kern / EPIC Center, Bolthouse Farms, Bakersfield College Job Corps Program, Chugach/Inland Empire Job Corps Center, Covenant Community Services, the Department of Rehabilitation, Garden Pathways Youth Mentoring, Youth2Leaders Education Foundation, Farmworkers Institute of Educational and Leadership Development (FIELD), and the State Building and Construction Trades of California.

Delano One-Stop Job Readiness & Recruitment Fair
Delano Branch Library
Friday, August 5 @ 4-6pm
Presented by the Kern County Library and the City of Delano, this recruitment fair includes conversations with local politicians (including the Mayor of Delano Bryan Osorio, Mayor Pro-Term Veronica Vasquez, and City Councilmembers Salvador Solorio-Ruiz, Liz Morris, and Joe Alindajao) who will be available to talk about their experiences in the political realm. Learn about current  job opportunities from State Building and Construction Trades of California, Bolthouse Farms, City of Delano, Chugach/Inland Empire Job Corpos Center, Dolores Huerta Foundation, and Farmworkers Institute of Educational and Leadership Development (FIELD).
