La Posada, a continuing care retirement community in Palm Beach Gardens, is pleased to announce a significant $35 million expansion and renovation project that will benefit current and future residents by enhancing the continuum of care and offering a greater variety of lifestyle choices. The expansion includes the addition of Mallorca at La Posada, a new four-story building which will feature 54 sophisticated, apartment homes designed for seniors to comfortably age in place, whether they live independently or need some assistance. Amenities in Mallorca will include a restaurant, pub, salon and spa, fitness space and various indoor and outdoor areas to socialize. The residences at Mallorca will feature studio, one- and two-bedroom floorplans, all equipped with full kitchens, washers and dryers, and balconies. Many of the Mallorca residences will have views of the lake. Residents will enjoy housekeeping services, scheduled transportation, wellness and lifestyles programing, and access to the community's 5-star rated Health Care Center.
"Mallorca will enhance our 22-acre campus, and will add another lifestyle experience that will enrich the lives of all La Posada residents," said Andy Kohlberg, president and chief executive officer of Kisco Senior Living. "Having the choice between two different styles of apartment homes those currently available at La Posada and those in Mallorca will allow us to offer a broader range of lifestyle options.
Mallorca will give residents the chance to age in place where all the amenities are located under one roof. It will also provide current residents with new dining options in the pub with both indoor and outdoor experiences, as well as a new salon and spa and more areas to socialize."
In addition to creating Mallorca, Kisco is renovating the existing La Posada clubhouse to give residents new areas to experience. This project will include the addition of a new free-standing 3,400-square-foot state-of-the-art wellness center with locker rooms and a workout space with expansive glass walls, allowing residents to enjoy views of the lake, and the nearby pool while they exercise. A new bar and lounge area will feature a space for Wii bowling competitions, large screen TVs for parties and casual drinks or coffee. A display kitchen will be the centerpiece of a new dining venue to enjoy culinary entertainment. An expanded walking path will loop around the entire campus, encouraging wellness and connecting residents throughout the La Posada community.
"By adding apartments and increasing amenities, current and future residents will have more options to enhance their active lifestyles," said Brad Cadiere, executive director of La Posada. "We are creating more areas for residents to explore life, focus on wellness, socialize and enjoy varied dining experiences. We look forward to offering our current residents more choices, and we are thrilled to welcome even more residents to our community."
With the addition of Mallorca, La Posada residents can choose from 20 unique floor plans up to 2,600 square feet.
Construction of Mallorca at La Posada is well underway. The renovation and expansion project will be completed first quarter of 2018. Pre-sales for Mallorca began January 1, 2017.
