"Lake County Cares is proud to partner with the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County and the Lake County Community Foundation to host "Leading for Good" Lake County and promote volunteering in Lake County," says Pam Gracyalny, Executive Director of Lake County Cares. "Nonprofit volunteer and board memberships are such an important way for individuals to help a nonprofit organization build capacity and increase impact. For the first time in Lake County, we're bringing together individuals and nonprofits to facilitate leadership volunteerism. We hope that the event results in many Lake County individuals joining the board or committee of a great local cause."
Miah Armour, Executive Director of the Lake County Community Foundation, says "This 'speed dating' for new board leaders will be a fun and effective way to build bench strength and visibility for Lake County's nonprofits as organizations get ready to launch into a new year of programming and services."
"Volunteers hold the most important and hardest to fill roles within nonprofits. Many individuals that are interested in filling these roles do not know how to connect to the nonprofits that need them. This event is designed to meet this need," says Angela Baran, Program Officer at the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County.
Over the summer, Lake County Cares conducted a series of workshops for area nonprofits focused on building capacity and increasing impact through effective volunteer programs. This event aims to bring the people of Lake County and nonprofits together, both to encourage the act of giving back to the community and to support area nonprofits.
