Dia de los Muertos, the traditional celebration in remembrance of departed relatives and friends will be celebrated this year on Sat. Oct. 29 from 10 am – 2 pm at Berkeley High School at Milvia and Bancroft streets. A free event for all the Family! LWVBAE will be tabling.

The League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville’s Board of Directors overwhelmingly voted in favor of renaming its internship program for area high school and college students to the “Helene Lecar Civic Engagement Program” in honor of Helene, who gave so much to the community, to the League and loved working with young people. Read more!

On Thursday, November 17 at 6:30 PM, the Healthcare Team of the League of Women Voters Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville will present the second event in a series “Health Care: Facing the Challenges for Change” featuring a film about Ady Barkan his struggles with ALS and Healthcare and his subsequent activism. Learn more and register!
