In between the BBQs, pool parties, and Fourth of July festivities, it can be easy for kids to forget what they learned over the school year. Luckily, summer learning is a BLAST in Irvine! Students can spark their memories with reading and math development classes; burst into new STEM skills with a LEGO video game-themed workshop; and dazzle their friends by sharing their experience exploring cool new technologies in a medtech engineering workshop.

- Reading DevelopmentBook lovers will improve comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and fluency; ages 4.5–11.

- Math Development: Thinkers will practice fraction operations, prime numbers, factoring concepts, decimals, algebra, and geometry skills; ages 6.5–11.

- Game On Challenge with LEGOIn this interactive one-day workshop, campers will use LEGO Bricks to create and build different characters from their favorite video games; ages 5–12.

- Hands-on Engineering: Future engineers will explore the emerging technologies and applications of medtech devices using computer-aided design, 3D printing, and material testing; ages 14/up.

The City of Irvine is hosting its inaugural Fourth of July Field of Valor event through July 10 at the Great Park Reflecting Ponds. Members of the community are invited to honor veterans, active duty, and fallen service members by visiting the flag display.
