- These outstanding students, groups and staff members were recognized at the board meeting following the Open House: Kevin Engel and the members of the MHS Marching Band for qualifying for the state competition; Susan Fraley representing MMS for receiving the Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service for the school's 2013-2014 Service Learning Programs; National Merit Scholarship Commended students Evan Cummings, Colin Fanselow, Travis Freytag, Jack Harper, Emily Heisser, Kristian Snyder and Zac Zeisler; National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalists Austin Cross and Jack Good; advisor Heidi Mac Neal and the new inductees into the National Junior Honor Society; Megan McKean who was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society; Advisors Jennifer Bruening and Jennifer Jordan and the new National Honor Society inductees and honorary faculty member inductee Kathy Moliterno and Jennifer Jordan and the students who participated in the H&R Block Budget Challenge.
At the organizational board meeting following Kam Misleh was elected School Board President and Tarek Kamil was elected School Board Vice President.
January is National School Board Appreciation month, and we send out a big thank you to our Madeira School Board members Tarek Kamil, Kam Misleh, David Templeton, Pat Shea and Cathy Swami for their tireless efforts ensuring Madeira Schools remains the best place for our students!
- Children who are residents of Madeira and will be 5 years of age on or before September 30, 2015, are eligible to enter kindergarten this fall. Registration for 2015-2016 kindergarten students will be held at Madeira Elementary School on February 23 and 24. Please visit Kdg 2015-2016 to download registration paperwork, then call the school at 513-985-6080 to schedule an appointment for one of the registration days to review your paperwork and finalize your child's enrollment.
- Congratulations to Madison McDonough for winning the Mariemont chapter's Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award which recognizes and rewards individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.
- The Madeira Athletic Department will sponsor Amazon Night on February 4 in a home game versus Finneytown. The JV game begins at 6 pm with Varsity at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $3.00 per person - youth players wearing their uniform will be admitted free and alumni signing in will receive a Madeira Strong wrist band. At 7 pm, prior to the Varsity game, Amazon Alumni in attendance with be introduced by decade and a photo will be taken at center court. At halftime, the Amazing Amazon youth players will be introduced after which alumni will be invited to join and display their basketball skills! Come support the Amazons past, present and future!
