Maine Democratic Party Chair Bev Uhlenhake released the following statement mourning the passing of former Maine Governor Joseph Brennan:

“Over the weekend, the people of Maine lost one of our most dedicated public officials and civil servants with the passing of Governor Joseph Brennan. Governor Brennan's service to the people of Maine spanned six decades: serving first in the United States Army and later at almost every level of elected or appointed office, including both chambers of the Maine State House, Attorney General of Maine, US Congress, and as Governor of this great state. His leadership in the governor’s office and impression on generations of Democratic leaders continue to shape Maine and will do so well into the future. Our deepest condolences go out to the Brennan family for their immeasurable loss.”
