Mary Webb, of Cranford, NJ, will appear on Westfield Community Players' (WCP) stage in The Dixie Swim Club...a Jones, Wooten, Hope comedy-drama. Ms. Webb will portray Vernadette Simms--the "hard luck case" public school teacher with limited financial resources, a son who's a career criminal and a daughter who drifts from cult to cult, Vernadette is self-deprecating by necessity. She faces her tribulations with gallows humor and the unwavering support of her friends.
Mary is thrilled to be back on stage after an almost 15 year
hiatus. She was last seen at WCP in "A Day in Hollywood" and "A Night in the Ukraine". She is currently a Board member of the Cranford Dramatic Club where she has performed in, directed and choreographed numerous productions. Her favorite part was Cleo in "The Most Happy Fella."
The Dixie Swim Club is directed by Wanda S. Maragni and produced by JoAnne Lemenille.
The Dixie Swim Club opens Jan. 5, 2013 and continues Jan. 12, 18, 19 at 8pm and a matinee on Jan. 13, 2013 at 3pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased through WCP Box Office at 908.232.1221 or on-line at: http://www.westfieldcommunityplayers.org/WCPticketrequest.html
